The Eurovelo6 offers various ways to experience the bike trip.
The EuroVelo 6 is one of 12 routes network EuroVelo born at the initiative of the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) in 1994. Its objective is to follow three of the largest European rivers : the Loire, Rhine and Danube.
A stopover place created along the lines of a mountain refuge can provide accommodation for you along the cycle route, at Saint-Maurice-Colombier, about fifteen kilometres from Montbéliard (Doubs). A particularly interesting initiative, overwhelmingly supported by users and that deserves to be developed.
On 25th June 2011, the Austrian and Slovak Foreign Affairs ministers met their Hungarian counterpart at Rajka, a Hungarian town where the EuroVelo cycle routes 6 and 13 join up, in order to celebrate the adoption by the European Council of the Danube region development programme.
Two new Eurovélo routes are under construction, the 13 and the 15 - each of which share a small section with the Eurovélo 6 route.
