Montbéliard > Mulhouse

illust-longue-mulhouse

61 km - We gradually leave the Franche-Comté to go downhill into timeless Alsace, with its picture-postcard woodland and storks' nests along the canal. This is a truly enchanting sight for riders on the Eurovélo 6. It is impossible to tire of this broad range of riches, both urban and rural.

Access

by train

TER trains provide a Strasbourg-Colmar-Mulhouse service. From Mulhouse, trains also run to Belfort Montbéliard, Besançon and Dole. Trains leave Mulhouse for Dole about every half-hour throughout the day. Paris can be reached by TGV, in three and a half hours.

  • Itinerary

The way out of Montbéliard is well surfaced and is very easy. The path runs along the Rhône-Rhine Canal, via Montreux and Dannemarie. Arriving in Mulhouse, we take the walkway to get to the Ill park, south of the city. The trail then leads straight to the city centre.

Located in the Près la Rose park, this pavilion puts on a large number of exhibitions open to the general public. Budding scientists are welcome in a space specially designed for curious young minds: an activities team will help kids make their first experiments.

Taking a corridor free of motor vehicles, is Belfort. This is an opportunity to enjoy the Vauban ramparts, the Citadel with the Route of Liberty, the History Museum and the brand new
"Espace Bartholdi", the Lion overlooking the Old Town, the Museums of Fine Arts and Modern Art. Belfort - the city of 4 flowers, colourful and lively - provides year-round entertainment for all.
