Mulhouse > Basel
40 km - Eurovelo 6, running along the Rhine, wavers between the border between Switzerland, Germany and France. This is an opportunity to discover Mulhouse and its beautiful historic centre, as well as Basel and its museums, whilst taking in a rewarding mixture of languages and cultures!

Itinerary
This stage starts from the town centre or the station. From there, the route takes the Quai d'Alger. Please note: some paths are not yet surfaced to get out of town! Then follow the cycling path that follows the Rhone-Rhine Canal, to Kembs. Going along the Huningue Canal, we finally arrive at the gateway to three countries, leading directly to the German border. The path follows the canal banks, then crosses the Rhine to arrive in Switzerland and the city of Basel.

EDF Electropolis museum
What happens inside our electricity sockets? The answer lies in this museum to discover the truth behind the magic of electricity, presenting the inventors of yesteryear and the modern day researchers. Curious, scientific minds of all ages will be fascinated by this amazing journey!
Train city
For anyone left cold by electricity, the Train City is the biggest and most beautiful railway museum in Europe. No fewer than 102 machines are spread across its 200,000m², and many activities are on offer to trace the history of the train, since the invention of the railways.

Alsace Eco-museum
Open your eyes, you're in one of the liveliest and most prestigious open-air museums in Europe. Since 1984, its success has never wavered: some 6.5 million visitors have passed through its doors.
Kembs
Don't miss one of the first hydroelectric plants in France, with a story full of twists and turns: destroyed during the Second World War, it was rebuilt and went back into operation in 1945.
The Le Corbusier lock
The control tower of this lock is worth the trip! Built in 1960 using a design made by renowned architect Le Corbusier, this is now listed as an historical monument.
Huningue / Saint louis
Huningue Water Park
If riding a bike isn't enough for you, this large wooded area has everything you need, including experienced professionals, to indulge in the joys of canoeing, rafting or hydrospeed. And if you don't have good sea legs, you can always have a go on one of the rock-climbing walls in the park, or go orienteering!
The little Alsacion Camargue
This nature reserve, the oldest and largest in Alsace, is the perfect spot to explore some 40 tree species, 180 birds and quite a few species of amphibians and dragonflies that flutter around in this preserved location.
Gateway to Three Countries
This bridge, which crosses the Rhine between the towns of Huningue and Weil-am-Rhein, boasts the record for the longest pedestrians and cyclist walkway: under your wheels are no fewer than 1012 tons of steel!
