Cycling Plan: A €1.5 million boost to cycling routes

Coinciding with the first French national cycling meeting, Transport Minister Thierry Mariani unveiled a National Cycling Plan. Among the measures announced are an extra one and a half thousand Euros to help fund traffic-free routes and cycle paths.
The EuroVelo network is supported by the European Parliament

On 15 December, MEPs asked the European Commission to integrate the EuroVelo network into the Trans-European Transport Network.
If this happens, the EuroVelo network could benefit from increased funding to bring it to completion.
The Danube route: a symbol of cooperation

On 25th June 2011, the Austrian and Slovak Foreign Affairs ministers met their Hungarian counterpart at Rajka, a Hungarian town where the EuroVelo cycle routes 6 and 13 join up, in order to celebrate the adoption by the European Council of the Danube region development programme.
An innovative stopover place near Montbéliard

A stopover place created along the lines of a mountain refuge can provide accommodation for you along the cycle route, at Saint-Maurice-Colombier, about fifteen kilometres from Montbéliard (Doubs). A particularly interesting initiative, overwhelmingly supported by users and that deserves to be developed.
A Cycling Expedition

At 59 years old, Albert Peyret travelled the 4200km of the Eurovélo 6 route from Rennes to Tulcea on his recumbent bicycle. Setting off on 1st May, he is due to arrive at the Black Sea in late July.

Two new Eurovélo routes are under construction, the 13 and the 15 - each of which share a small section with the Eurovélo 6 route.

Marc Hummel was looking for adventure when he got on his bike : Riding to the Black Sea, taking Eurovélo6. For this, his first long-distance trip, Marc crossed Europe, setting off from Belfort in north-eastern France on 22 June, reaching Constanta, Romania, a month later.
